Check, Check... is this thing on??

We have an exciting announcement to share.  I have been dying to "let the cat out of the bag" for a few weeks now, but with everything else going on we decided to hold off.  We are very happy that we are expecting baby # 2 sometime the end of February or early March!  We have seen baby and heard the heartbeat and are coming up on 12 weeks.  So far this pregnancy has been totally different than my pregnancy with little K.  I am not near as sick and it usually comes in the afternoons/evenings.  I have been exhausted though and I am looking forward to my 2nd trimester so I can find more energy! We are hoping for a "blue one"  but just praying for a healthy baby.

Uh Oh, forgot to buy tennis shoes!

Yesterday Mr Fix It had to go somewhere that required him to wear "shoes".  I say shoes, but its what I call real shoes since flip flops seem to be what our family wears all summer.  Anyway, so he got out his tennis shoes and put them on. Little K studied him and studied him as if it was the oddest thing ever.  All day long she was interested in his shoes and talked about them off and on.  Soon she started asking where HER tennis shoes were.  We told her that hers were too small and we would have to buy her some new ones.  We got out that afternoon and ran some errands and when we got home Little K says, "Uh oh, forgot to buy K tennis shoes!"  My child is going to be one of those that NEVER forgets.  Needless to say we went out today and bought her some tennis shoes and she loved them so much she napped in them! : )

Don't they look like such big girl shoes???

Sad Endings and New Beginnings

Here we are.  The summer is almost to an end and this year sure has had its ups and downs.  Through it all God remains faithful and for that I praise Him.  We have celebrated firsts, beginnings, life, and now we're saying a goodbye to a great man, my husband's father.  John Charles, you were loved by many and will be missed by all!

I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. And now the prize awaits me - the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of His return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to His appearing.
