Check, Check... is this thing on??
We have an exciting announcement to share. I have been dying to "let the cat out of the bag" for a few weeks now, but with everything else going on we decided to hold off. We are very happy that we are expecting baby # 2 sometime the end of February or early March! We have seen baby and heard the heartbeat and are coming up on 12 weeks. So far this pregnancy has been totally different than my pregnancy with little K. I am not near as sick and it usually comes in the afternoons/evenings. I have been exhausted though and I am looking forward to my 2nd trimester so I can find more energy! We are hoping for a "blue one" but just praying for a healthy baby.

Uh Oh, forgot to buy tennis shoes!
Yesterday Mr Fix It had to go somewhere that required him to wear "shoes". I say shoes, but its what I call real shoes since flip flops seem to be what our family wears all summer. Anyway, so he got out his tennis shoes and put them on. Little K studied him and studied him as if it was the oddest thing ever. All day long she was interested in his shoes and talked about them off and on. Soon she started asking where HER tennis shoes were. We told her that hers were too small and we would have to buy her some new ones. We got out that afternoon and ran some errands and when we got home Little K says, "Uh oh, forgot to buy K tennis shoes!" My child is going to be one of those that NEVER forgets. Needless to say we went out today and bought her some tennis shoes and she loved them so much she napped in them! : )
Don't they look like such big girl shoes???

Sad Endings and New Beginnings
Here we are. The summer is almost to an end and this year sure has had its ups and downs. Through it all God remains faithful and for that I praise Him. We have celebrated firsts, beginnings, life, and now we're saying a goodbye to a great man, my husband's father. John Charles, you were loved by many and will be missed by all!
I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. And now the prize awaits me - the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of His return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to His appearing.

She's A Big Kid Now!!!!
I am so excited! We have been having a battle with Little K over "clothes" v. "no clothes" and a lot of time it seems like with the "no clothes" option we get a lot of potty accidents! But last night Little K tt'd in the potty for the first time and boy were we excited. I was getting her bath started and so Mr Fix It sat with her and did flash cards with her to keep her attention on the potty. All of the sudden the potty started singing which meant there was "something" and we danced around and praised her all evening long!
But... I'm not ready to throw out the diapers yet... I got her up this morning and sat her on her potty. She didn't want to sit there long and when I left the room to get her clothes and a diaper she walked across the room and tt'd on the floor!!!
I have 9 months to get her potty trained!

NO Paci= Lots of Changes
Little K has been paci free since February 17th! I so wish I would have been smarter and taken them away when she was younger, but hey, we live and learn, right? She asked for her paci for the first few days, but since then we haven't looked back. I will say though that a major downfall of no paci is that her sleeping has not been the same. She sleeps less at night and she rarely takes a nap now. Getting her to sleep at night has been a huge chore. She cries and cries and cries and I end up going in, rocking her for less than 3 mins and then she's asleep! Mr Fix It says she's got my number! I think he may be right. Another habit Little K has picked up since being paci-free, and sleeping less, is she is always taking off her clothes. My child LOVES to be naked and we are constantly fighting with her to make her keep her clothes on. Constantly. This morning she woke up at 6am. I heard her and was hoping since it was early she would go back to sleep so I didn't get up. It got quiet and I didn't hear her again until after 7. I got up, went in her room to get her, and I was SO surprised at what I saw! There was my sweet little girl naked, her clothes and diaper on the floor, and to my horror poo poo in the bed!!!!!!!!!!! The first thing Little K said was "shew" followed by her asking for a wipe. I guess you could say its been a messy morning.

A Child of The King
In this semester of my Bible Study I really felt a strong nudge to take on a little "more" and sign up for the Breaking Free Study by Beth Moore. I have done one of her other studies on Daniel and so I knew how deep she would go and how much homework and dedication it would take on my part. However, I did not fully know what God had in store for ME! It certainly has not been easy to take a look back at my past and see the bondage that was still lingering in my life today, but God has been with me every step of the way. For so long I have been broken down because of the generational bondage in my family, but through this study I have been reminded that no matter what happens in my life, I am a daughter of the King and HE is my heavenly FATHER! I am finding freedom and being delivered from personal captivity and God wants to do the same thing for everyone so we can fully experience His goodness and blessings.

She Sings and Then She Sings Some More!!!!
Every day I think that Kinley cannot possibly grow anymore, get any cuter, or learn anything else. She is amazing us every. single. day! She loves to sing and dance and she does BOTH with such great enthusiasm that it warms my heart up and makes me smile and beg for her to sing louder and dance longer!!! She has the best personality and the sweetest disposition. She loves other children and she wants to be as big as they are. She is such a good little helper and loves to do whatever mommy is doing. She has stolen my heart AND her daddy's heart and brings more joy into our lives than we ever thought possible.
We love you Kinley Emerson!!!

Here we are!
Apparently I needed a little bit of a break from my blog. I recently realized that I hadn't posted since before Christmas and every time I wanted to, I could not find a starting point. Anyway, I have decided to start all over with a new year, and a new blog. Same name, same topics, just different scenery! Hopefully it won't take me too long to get used to this new site.

She loves going to church, playing outside and playing in water. She sits down with a book and pretends to read and even knows when the book is upside down. She thinks she knows her ABC's and I don't have the heart to tell her she doesn't. She can tell you how old she is and she can tell you all kinds of sounds that animals make! I think she may be the smartest little girl..... ever!

Our family had a wonderful holiday season! Christmas with a 1 1/2 year old was much different and much more exciting than last year when Little K was only 6 months old. She had a blast opening presents and playing with all of her toys!!!!
Little K is growing so quickly. She is looking less and less like a baby and more like a big girl. She is such a sweet girl and makes me smile no matter what kind of day I'm having. And have I mentioned how much she LOVES her daddy?
