She makes me SMILE!

I mean it when I say I could just eat her up. I mean it when I say that I love her so much I would sacrifice everything for her.  I mean it when I say that she has my heart.  And I mean it when I say that I want the best for her and I pray over her every single day!!
I love her style... her imagination... and her silly ways.  She is so smart and her vocabulary is growing everyday.  She loves to learn, read and do art and is very creative.  I feel so blessed to be her mom!!!

Fun, Fun, Fun.... Look who's ONE

Happy Birthday Little C!!

I can't even believe that I am sitting down to write Little C's ONE year blog! I have heard from so many other mother's that once you have 2 children everything just moves a long at a faster pace and I must agree. Our Little C turned ONE on January 28th. It ended up that we were all sick that weekend (surprise, surprise) and so we postponed his party for the following weekend. We had family over and we partied ONE year old style.

To our sweet little man,

Oh how you keep us on our toes... you are into everything.... you smile constantly... and you keep us busy. You love to play with your sister and you want to play with all of the toys that she's playing with at the same time that she's playing with them. That has caused a few little struggles between the two of you but we're trying to let you both learn how to work things out and how to share. We keep telling Little K that one day VERY soon you will be bigger than her and you will be able to fight back more!

You enjoy playing with trucks, cars, and trains and will push them all over the house.

You eat...eat...eat! I mean... I'm pretty sure that we're going to have to take out a loan just to keep you fed. You will eat whatever we put in front of you and then a lot of times you will actually finish your sister's food too! It took us weeks to try and get you to drink out of cups and not bottles but you would get so mad and just throw them. Then one day you just decided to do it and we haven't looked back sense. Now... we just need to figure out how to say bye-bye to the pacifiers.

You have red hair, which you got from your Pop Pop, and it seems that was a little gift so that we could always feel that he is right here with us! We wish that he would have had the opportunity to meet you because we know that he would have just wanted to eat you up and you would have fallen in love with him too!

You have started taking steps and attempting the walking-thing, but most days you are just as happy (and fast) crawling. For now we are ok with that because we know that life is going to get even more crazier when you have more mobility!

Sweet boy, you love to cuddle and snuggle, especially when you are tired or get hurt. You have a little bit of a temper but you are also a lover. Oh... and you get hurt a lot!! You are all boy and you climb, fall, bump and bang several times a day. You pretty much are always sporting some sort of bruise.

You say Da-Da, Layla (our dog) and you sometimes say Mama. For now you do a lot of grunting and at times you get frustrated when we don't understand.

You love music and you like to sing and dance and clap. You are so cute when you shake your little diaper booty!

You really like to be outside and will stand by the door and grunt and want to go outside and play.  You get so frustrated when you can't get down and walk and follow your sister and go where you want to go.

We never knew that you would complete our family that way that you do but you bring so many happy moments into our home! We love you as big as the sky... and the sky NEVER ends!!

Love, Mama, Daddy and Big Sister K

Tis the Season (pt2)

I hope you all weren't holding your breath between pt1 & pt2.... :) It seems that I have less and less time to sit down and blog the older Little C gets! Man... He is keeping us on our toes!  But anyway, back to Christmas at our house.

I was so thrilled how much Little K got into the Christmas spirit this year.  She was so excited when we got out all of our decorations, her nativity set, and put a tree in her room.

Our Christmas Eve tradition is probably my favorite tradition.  For the past 3 years we have gone to my sister's house along with my mom, her husband, and his daughter and we have a Christmas Eve breakfast.  I love this time of getting together... letting the cousins give each other gifts and spending some relaxing time together.
Then later in the evening Mr. Fix-It's mom comes over to our house for finger foods and we exchange presents with her. We put out our Santa snack's and even left one for our Elf, Alexsha and then we were off to bed.

Thankfully, and probably the last year for a long time, we had to wake Little K and Little C up to see what Santa brought.  Little C didn't really know what was going on but his big sister sure was excited.

The rest of the day is a blur... we went to Mr Fix-It's cousin's house for lunch and Mama A's Aunt's house for dinner.  We had a busy day spent with family.... laughing, talking, eating and sharing memories.

Tis the Season (pt 1)

I have to say this before I go any further... SUMMER weather.... I MISS YOU.  Could someone just please wake me up when its warmer?????
All in all December was a great month for our family.  Thankfully we were all healthy and we were able to get out and enjoy the holiday season.  The weather was unseasonably warm at times and so there were several days that we were outside in tshirts!  But today the high is 34. Brrrrrr....They always say that if you don't like the weather today, just stick around and tomorrow it will be different.
The weekend after Thanksgiving Santa Claus sent Little K her very own special Elf.  She named her Alexsha (I have no idea where that name came from).  Alexsha flew back to the North Pole every night and then Little K would have to get up the next morning and find her.  Alexsha was a little bit of a naughty elf but she didn't make too many messes. On Christmas Eve Alexsha goes back to the North Pole with Santa but before she left she turned all of our milk GREEN as a goodbye present!!  Silly little ELF!

One Saturday we went to the Christmas Parade downtown.  Little K was so excited and had a great time!  She danced and marched with the bands and wanted to ride the horses. :))
Our Botanical Garden has an amazing Galaxy of Lights every year and our family tradition is to go on the night that you can walk through it.  We have done this 3 years in a row and it is one of our favorite things to do at Christmas time.  They even have Santa Claus flown in so that the little ones can sit on his lap and tell them what they would like for Christmas.  Little K did awesome with Santa this year and Little C wasn't sure at first.

Another favorite tradition is going to cut down the PERFECT Christmas tree from a Christmas tree farm.  We head out on the Saturday after Thanksgiving to find our tree.  This year it was warm and a gorgeous day!

11 Months Old

Little C turned 11 months old on December 28th... Wow.... what a busy little guy he is.

He is into to every thing and so curious.  He LOVES to eat and anytime he sees anyone with food he will crawl over and start grunting for food.  He is is saying MaMa and DaDa but that's about it.  He doesn't seem all that interested in walking yet, but I'm sure it won't be long. :))
