Virginia Beach Here We Are

We just got home from a wonderful visit with the McClain's in Virginia Beach, Virginia Camper-Style! We left here on a Tuesday with our camper following us down the road and we were super excited to finally be making the trip to see our friends! We stopped at the half way point and spent the night in a KOA campground and then got up the next morning and finished our journey. We finally arrived Wednesday evening and Little K was all smiles :)) We stayed at the the Holiday Trav-L in Virginia Beach and we loved the campground. http://www.campingvb.com/

We got all set up and the next morning we were able to see Tiffany and meet Reese for the first time ever! (Grace was in school) What a sweet girl Reese is and her hugs? AMAZING!
We surprised Little K with her very first bike and she was a pro-rider in no time at all & loved riding around the campground.
Later Little K and Grace met again for the first time since they were wee little babies... what a sweet reunion and they became fast friends.  They are exactly 2 months apart and love playing together.

Here is a picture of them when they met for the very first time....

And here they are now.... they love each other!

We had a great visit and really wish that we lived closer so we could hang out more. We can't wait to see ya'll again! :))

Only Child- For the Day

Little K spent the night with her Grandmama last night so today I have Little C as an only child. He is such a sweet little guy and is totally in love with me as much as I am with him. I must admit... it didn't start out this way. Being that he was 6 weeks early he just wasn't ready to be out of his mama's belly in this cold, scary world, and he made sure that we knew it.  Although I have always loved Little C, there were times when I honestly did not like him very much.  I know, that sounds bad, but its true.  But now? Oh, what a sweet little guy he is!  He loves to snuggle and cuddle and is always smiling.  He naps good most days and sleeps from 8pm until at least 7am sometimes 8am!!!  He loves to eat and can't stand to have a stinky diaper.  He adores his daddy and wants to be right where Little K is.  He has brought so much joy into our house and our hearts!  What did we do before him???

Goodbye Summer.... Sniff, Sniff

We have had a perfect summer at our house! I know there are so many who are so ready to see these host summer days go and are ready to welcome the cooler temperatures of fall.  But I am not one of those. There is something about summer in Alabama that I love. The heat doesn't really bother me and I LOVE all of the outdoor activities and the summer sun. I realize that I may feel differently if we didn't have a pool in our backyard to stay cool in, but I am definitely sad to say goodbye to our summer this year. Here's a recap in pictures...

Let's Try This Again

OK, so I've taken some time off from my blog... a lot of time actually. In a search to simplify, de-clutter (is that a word?) and slow down a little bit I have decided to now de-activate my facebook account for a little while... AND give up some TV. :))   In hopes of sharing with family and friends a little of our lives (and record all the really cute things (and not so cute things) that my children do on a daily basis) I have decided to start keeping up my blog again.  Aren't you SO excited? He He He

Stay tuned.... there will be much more to come! I can't wait to share with you all!

Check, Check... is this thing on??

We have an exciting announcement to share.  I have been dying to "let the cat out of the bag" for a few weeks now, but with everything else going on we decided to hold off.  We are very happy that we are expecting baby # 2 sometime the end of February or early March!  We have seen baby and heard the heartbeat and are coming up on 12 weeks.  So far this pregnancy has been totally different than my pregnancy with little K.  I am not near as sick and it usually comes in the afternoons/evenings.  I have been exhausted though and I am looking forward to my 2nd trimester so I can find more energy! We are hoping for a "blue one"  but just praying for a healthy baby.

Uh Oh, forgot to buy tennis shoes!

Yesterday Mr Fix It had to go somewhere that required him to wear "shoes".  I say shoes, but its what I call real shoes since flip flops seem to be what our family wears all summer.  Anyway, so he got out his tennis shoes and put them on. Little K studied him and studied him as if it was the oddest thing ever.  All day long she was interested in his shoes and talked about them off and on.  Soon she started asking where HER tennis shoes were.  We told her that hers were too small and we would have to buy her some new ones.  We got out that afternoon and ran some errands and when we got home Little K says, "Uh oh, forgot to buy K tennis shoes!"  My child is going to be one of those that NEVER forgets.  Needless to say we went out today and bought her some tennis shoes and she loved them so much she napped in them! : )

Don't they look like such big girl shoes???

Sad Endings and New Beginnings

Here we are.  The summer is almost to an end and this year sure has had its ups and downs.  Through it all God remains faithful and for that I praise Him.  We have celebrated firsts, beginnings, life, and now we're saying a goodbye to a great man, my husband's father.  John Charles, you were loved by many and will be missed by all!

I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. And now the prize awaits me - the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of His return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to His appearing.
